In building out the world for Cold War, Ken and I talked about the things we would expect to happen if scientists had access to alien DNA, weaponry, and technology. The short story “Frostbite” was born from that. We wanted to write it not only to shape some of the genetic engineering and supersoldier issues we would write about in Alien Exile, but also to give more depth to Agent Harding.
