Back in 2016 I wrote a lot of words on my laptop for Nanowrimo. Did I hit the 50k word mark? Yes, I did. But I also ended up with frozen shoulder which took a lot of effort to rehab. One thing I took more seriously after that was my workstation set up.
I use a bluetooth keyboard, a full-sized one. I also have an extra trackpad mouse for my laptop. Recently, I got this new Roost keyboard stand. I love it. It works a lot better than my previous one and travels well. It folds up accordion style, to about the size of a flashlight and doesn’t weigh much. My laptop is a Macbook air, so it’s fairly low profile but I think even a pro would fit just fine in it.
Now that so many people are working remotely from home and probably spending even more time on their laptops than usual, I urge you to get the right set up and take lots of breaks to stretch your neck. Stay safe and sane, everyone.
